Miki Kowalski 9/15/17 HST 2000 Bipolar Disorder “According to the National Institute of Mental Health, 5.7 million people struggle with bipolar disorder; studies have found that 50% start showing signs before age 19. One out of five bipolar will commit suicide”. Bipolar disorder caught my eye while reading about it because it affects so many people. This affects men and women equally. Someone who suffers from bipolar disorder can go from being energetic and outgoing to feeling almost worthless and depressed within a span of a few days or a few months. This disorder can be caused by many things. It can be inherited through your parent's genes or it can be caused by a great amount of stress and conflict in a person’s environment.
